- 1107 or 60.4% of the 1,834 available homes were vacant
- 103 or 77% of the 133 available listed for less than $100,000 are vacant.

September 2008 Sale Numbers
Riverside County leads the way with HUGE sales increases.
4,551 Riverside County homes sold in September 2008 a huge increase of 106% from the 2,208 that sold in September, 2007.
Per the MRMLS, 457 Moreno Valley homes closed escrow in October, 2008 compared to on 85 closings in October, 2007!!!
Bargain hunting Home Buyers and Investors are in the market.
While sales soared, prices continued their decline as bargain hunting Home Buyers and Investors feasted on foreclosures. The median price of those Riverside County homes that sold in September was $237,500 a decline of 36.8% from the median price of $375,000 recorded in September, 2007.
Throughout Southern California home sales in September, 2008 were up 64.6% and the median price of those homes that did sell dropped 33.2% as compared to this same time last year.

More escrows close!
- 457 Properties closed escrow in October, 2008; a huge increase from the 343 that closed in September, 341 that closed in August, 287 that closed in July, the 240 in June and 247 closings in May. This 457 number may increase as additional end-of-month closing are recorded in the MLS.
- 606 Escrows were opened. This is up from the 569 that opened in September.

Moreno Valley, a young city will be celebrating its 24rd birthday on December 3rd, 2008 is populated by many young families. City leaders have and continue to put emphasis on recreation and city programs for families.
The Moreno Valley 2007-2008 Budget approved by the City Council included expenditures for:
